  • If you are connected to UTEP WiFi, you must also be connected to the UTEP VPN for this to work.
  • You will need to use your UTEP credentials to access the shared folder.
  • Copy, Don’t Move Files to SMB Shared Drives When transferring data to the SMB shared drive (Spectrum Scale), do not move files directly. Always copy the data first, verify it, and then delete the originals. This ensures permissions and inheritance apply correctly across folders. If using the command line, use: cp -a
